I've currently got a full classroom of six wizards. At the moment the only school (and there has to be one) that isn't represented is fire (for various reasons, and this may change soon). Three of these are legend level and one (my storm) has finished all available quests.
Here's the current roster:
- Malorn Rainweaver - level 60 Storm. This is my gear farming wizard. He's got the classic secondary setup of ice to tower and death to feint with a full set of sun fist spells (yay gargantuan), treant from moon and vengeance from star. He hasn't seemed to be all that capable in PvP, but I haven't played him much 1v1 (got to do more of this some time and see if I can make him work better). He is hell on wheels against monsters though. His farming deck is just storm blade, tempest and gargantuan (with a couple treant if he's working with someone rather than solo). Pretty much a couple of turns and most monsters are gone. He also has enough accuracy boost in his gear that he almost never fizzles.
- Mycin AshHeart - level 60 Balance. He's better in the arena than Malorn (or perhaps just easier to tune) but not quite as good in general play. Still balance is a nice combination of decent hit points and good hitting power. Add in that balance plays well with others (most blades, traps and such apply to all schools) and he's a pretty good mix. He too has the classic mix with ice, death, sun and treant. He's also got the PvP sergeant level aura spell that suppresses stun mostly. He's another one that I need to try some 1v1 with. Most of his PvP work to date was with Keller and Rhonda as 3v3. Mycin still needs to do the last one or two quests in celestia (may also have a few hanging side quests, but not much). Hopefully once Brand and Tavia have leveled up I can get these cleaned up.
- Kane SoulHammer - Level 60 Myth. He's pretty weak overall for his level. I'm told that in 3v3 or 4v4 that myth wizards are in great demand because earthquake can knock stun shields off, allowing stun chaining to work once again. Haven't tried that yet, just recently heard about it. He's still got quite a bit of questing to finish up. Again, I'm hoping to get him cleaned up and squared away soon.
- Brand UnicornHunter - Level 55 Life. Currently leveling him pretty fast, working with Tavia. Once these two are at legend, we ought to be able to kick some serious butt in the arena I'd think. We'll have to get crafted clothes and probably that new wand that everyone is hauling around, but none of that should be particularly difficult. Probably much will depend on how much we like PvP versus starting another wizard up. I tend to like the questing more than the PvP so far, but a mixed diet wouldn't be a bad thing. He's also about three golden pearls away from his grand master crafting badge. So pretty soon he should be able to buy the recipes for the crafted clothes and get started on that slog. Lots of pearl diving in the ??? instance before he's done there.
- Kyle WyrmShard - Level ?? Ice. He's currently sitting at the end of MarleyBone, waiting for help with the counterweight instances and Big Ben. Depending on how things play out I may just run him through (I'm sure Tavia would be happy to help, but Brand may take priority when she's available). Ice seems to be the top contender on the PvP scene, so I'm rather interested in getting him leveled up to see if I like PvP better with him (or possibly Tavia and Brand) than I did with Mycin or Malorn. May just be that a mixture of PvP and questing will suit me best, the last group I ran with was cutting over pretty near exclusively to PvP when things broke up, so that may have influenced my perspective.
- Kyle ??? - Level ?? Death. I created this wizard to run with a friend who has since left the scene. He's been parked in Krok for quite some time and I may very well ultimately delete him and start a fresh wizard to run from the beginning with Tavia once our current pair hit legend. He's got a bit of gear, but I can transfer that to the shared bank. Other thing I have to decide at that point is whether to start another death or go with fire. The friend I created this guy to run with had a thing about fire wizards...I really don't, so I'm a bit torn. Fire has some interesting spells, but so does death. I may see what Rogan and/or Keller think before I make a final choice here.
